Tod’s was born in the early 1900 when Filippo Della Valle built up a shoes workshop in Marche, an Italian well known region for its artisans and the excellent know-how leather working.
During 40s, Dorino Della Valle expanded the activity into a small shoes manufacture company working for the most known brands of that time. In 1975 Diego Della Valle transformed the company in a leading luxury brand well known worldwide for its Made in Italy.
Tod’s combines tradition, high quality and modernity with an exclusive functional design, with the result of a timeless refined elegance. Undisputed protagonist is the leather in all its shades and processing. Tod’s processed the most prestigious leathers coming from the best tanneries of the world to guarantee always the maximum high quality final product available in the market.

The sunglass and optical collection, realized in collaboration with Marcolin since 2008, forms a unique mix of elegance and exclusive design, enriched by prestigious materials where the leather is protagonist. Tod’s sunglasses and optical frames are embellished with an exclusive braided leather as an iconic element hand stitched by an Italian artisan on the temples to emphasize always the absolute craftsmanship that can be found in every creation.
Collection Eyewear 2020
Tod’s unveils the new Fall/Winter 2020/21 eyewear collection, which revolves around two themes: iconic, that includes standout frames characterized by exclusive leather details, such as threading, a unique stitching technique that is entirely hand-crafted by expert Italian artisans and is dedicated to women’s styles; and braiding, one of the brand’s most iconic details for which it is globally recognized, and the result of the skillful art of braiding colored strips of leather together to lend a modern and lightweight feel to our products. The timeless theme redefines beauty, reinterpreting icons of the past with a contemporary twist and featuring retro-inspired frames defined by the distinctive T, the brand’s instantly recognizable metal detail, for timeless elegance. Its signature elements include vintage inspirations and a selection of premium and modern materials inspired by Tod’s luxury world, which is reinterpreted with stylish and contemporary frames. A new entry for the season is the iconic T presented in a larger version, an exciting addition to the eyewear collection and a signature element personalizing all the new Tod’s accessories collections.
