Colección Eyewear 2021
The new S/S 2022 Max Mara Eyewear collection traces the route of elegance through quality and stylistic innovation. The House, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year as a leading brand in the fashion industry, continues down its evolutionary path with renewed enthusiasm, steering femininity towards a more conscious, definite, and sophisticated lifestyle. The fascination of a longstanding tradition and the vision of an influential role in the dynamic realm of eyewear guide the partnership between Max Mara and Marcolin towards the creation of a collection that combines stylistic research with premium materials and passion with cutting-edge technical expertise. This collection gives life to sunglasses and optical frames that turn glamour into the quintessence of beauty. Max Mara’s chic identity translates into sophisticated silhouettes with fine elements and details that stem from a shared aesthetic with art world icons, reinterpreted by a brand that channels the essence of luxury towards a modern expression of personality. The collection is inspired by three concepts:
1) Irish architect and designer Eileen Gray, a pioneer of the Modern Movement, better known as International Style, and her aesthetic research are the architectural & design inspirations that influence the oversize frames made from acetate and tubular metal. The designs that nod to Eileen Gray’s style are characterized by an extremely lightweight feel and extra-large fronts, where functional components turn into stylish and minimalist decorative elements.
2) The life and work of Lee Miller, who was more than just a fashion icon: a model, a fashion photographer and a war correspondent, who was internationally renowned for her work during WWII as well as for her portraits of some of the biggest names of the time. Her strong and forthright personality serves as the inspiration for feminine, thick, and linear designs of character. The contrast between the orderly contours of a determined and self-confident woman and the sinuous shapes of a sweet and gentle woman is epitomized by the prism logo on the temples.
3) The #maxmaragram: the monogram logo that identifies the Max Mara brand, created by celebrated artist and illustrator Erberto Carboni back in 1958 and now revisited with a contemporary twist in a pattern featuring a fine serif font that personalizes the brand’s apparel and accessories, and now also its sunglasses and optical frames, as a sophisticated jewel-like emblem that enhances the new eyewear.
